…the start of the list – the biggest names?

As someone new to the Stoic philosophy (roughly 2 hours listening and 3 hours reading) the initial list of people to research is necessarily short. It will grow.

The big names – so far

  • Zeno
  • Cato
  • Epictetus
  • Seneca
  • Marcus Aurelius

The available data sources online

  • Wikipedia
  • Youtube
  • Daily Stoic
  • TED
  • The School of Life
  • Modern Stoicism

The above reflect what I have seen in the short time since I started researching Stoicism.

There is no evaluation of the importance of each person or source nor any claim that these are the most important individuals or websites in the world of Stoicism – merely they are the people and places I have come across so far.

It is my aim to not critique the sources and materials I discover but to record what I find and any ‘facts’ available. For instance, I watched some videos which left considerable pauses between each element. Some people will find that attractive others will not – I don’t intend to try to influence – just inform.

First learn the meaning of what you say, and then speak.
